Matias de Falcis

Composing Light, Form, and Motion: Exploring harmony through geometry, technology, and generative movement

De Falcis turns code and construction into choreography; inviting light to move, fold, and reshape space.

Matías De Falcis is an Argentinian artist and architect whose multidisciplinary practice fuses digital design, spatial thinking, and immersive environments. Rooted in an early fascination with geometry and materiality, his work explores how programmed light and form can manipulate perception, offering moments of stillness, dynamism, and reflection. Now based in Barcelona, De Falcis blends architectural precision with audiovisual experimentation, crafting sculptural and generative pieces that resonate across physical and virtual dimensions.

BIO

Matías De Falcis is a multidisciplinary artist and architect from Argentina, currently living and working in Barcelona. With a background in architecture from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, his practice merges spatial reasoning with a deep exploration of form, light, and movement. Drawing from digital fabrication techniques and generative programming, his work explores how light interacts with materials—bending, refracting, and animating surfaces to create illusions of fluid motion. His trajectory includes collaborations with artists such as Mareo Rodríguez and training with multimedia artist Paola Olea, experiences that helped shape his conceptual and technological approach. De Falcis has exhibited internationally, with presentations at Art Basel Miami Beach, the Islamic Art Festival, Kaleido Art Experience, and other global platforms for immersive and audiovisual art.

PUBLICATIONS

Matías De Falcis’s work has been featured in a variety of digital and physical platforms that explore the intersection of architecture, technology, and contemporary art. His projects have appeared in exhibition catalogs and press features tied to Art Basel Miami Beach, the Islamic Art Festival, Kaleido Art Experience, and The Gallery by Lastcrit. In addition, interviews and articles have explored his use of generative design and the fusion of light and material in static yet dynamic forms. As his practice continues to evolve, so too does the documentation of his contributions to the growing field of immersive and interdisciplinary art.

ARCHITECTURES OF PERCEPTION

Matías De Falcis constructs immersive worlds where geometry, code, and light converge to expand how we perceive form and space. Drawing from his background in architecture and digital fabrication, he reimagines structural elements not as static forms, but as living systems shaped by movement and energy. His works invite viewers to engage with shifting perspectives—where material boundaries blur, and spatial logic gives way to sensory experience.
