Cecil Kemperink
The Rhythm of Connection:
Exploring balance, movement, and unity through the endless circle.
Cecil Kemperink’s sculptural universe unfolds where rhythm meets form. Each ceramic link becomes a gesture of connection between body, space, and spirit revealing the beauty of interdependence and motion.
Rooted in a multidisciplinary background that bridges dance, fashion, and textile art, Cecil Kemperink creates sculptures that embody the constant interplay between movement and stillness. Her fascination with the circle as a symbol of infinity, unity, and strength guides an ever-evolving exploration of connection. Each link is both an individual and part of a greater whole, leaning, supporting, and resonating with the others.
Her process is instinctive and deeply physical: clay becomes a partner in dialogue, responding to breath, energy, and time. The sculptures hold a paradoxical balance between fragility and resilience mirroring the human condition. Influenced by nature’s rhythms, from tides to wind, her work captures the pulse of continuity and transformation.

BIO
Cecil Kemperink (b. 1963, The Netherlands) is a Dutch sculptor whose work bridges movement, material, and mindfulness. With a background in textile art, fashion, and dance, she approaches clay as both a physical and spiritual medium one that captures rhythm, repetition, and flow.
Over the past decades, Kemperink has developed a distinctive sculptural language built on circles and interlinked forms, exploring the tension between vulnerability and strength, permanence and transformation. Her practice moves fluidly between installation, performance, and sound, allowing each piece to reveal its own momentum and energy.
Based in Esch, The Netherlands, she continues to expand her research into connection between body, object, and space through exhibitions, performances, and collaborations around the world.

The Sculpture as a Living Rhythm
In Cecil Kemperink’s hands, clay transcends materiality it becomes vibration. Her circular compositions are not static objects but living systems that invite participation, sound, and movement.
